Khan focused the show more on the personal and social interactions of a married couple.
He came on board on the condition that he be allowed to work further on the concept. The concept lacked appeal for Khan who was looking to direct a serial. Essa Khan was approached to further develop the idea and write the pilot script. Originally Mani and ARY Digital CEO Jerjees Seja wanted to develop a sitcom inspired by Curb Your Enthusiasm.
